Suicide Awareness & Prevention

Partnering With Our Community

Thrive has been dedicated to making Oak Park and River Forest suicide safer communities since 2015. On average, six lives are lost to suicide in our OPRF community every year. And, based on statistics from the CDC, 4,000 people in our community have thoughts of suicide.

Our staff provides the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training, empowering individuals to recognize the warning signs of suicide, ask questions, and link someone with professional help. QPR is offered to youth and individuals who live and work in our communities, thereby building a network able to identify people with thoughts of suicide and connect them to life-saving resources.

Our staff has partnered with Trinity High School, Fenwick Hight School, Oak Park River Forest High School, Dominican University, Housing Forward, and other community organizations to provide QPR to students, faculty, staff, and parents.

Contact us if you're interested in suicide prevention training for your organization, school, or company.
